ThymicUK reached an important milestone this past month with the introduction of the 300^th member in our support group.

This is an incredible number given the rarity of the disease in the UK, and where we started out as a community patient support group with 6 patients at our first meeting in June 2018.

The private Facebook support group has grown by 120 members on this time last year and remains a very active and supportive environment with patients, family members, friends and carers alike.

Members support each other by sharing experiences, and we are very proud and privileged to have such an active, dedicated and supportive network of members in the UK.

The group enables us to support more people affected by thymic cancers in the UK and together raise awareness and make a difference. Bringing together so many patients affected by thymic cancers will also help us facilitate important research into these rare cancers.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members, new and old, for their contributions to the group. It’s encouraging to see how wonderfully supportive everyone is of one another. We are grateful for all those who have participated in events and everyone who has very kindly fundraised for or donated to ThymicUK.
