Karen Ruddock welcomed everyone to the meeting including those dialing in. Karen led a discussion on the updates and actions from the previous meeting and reported that at the time of the meeting our membership had now reached 73. There then followed a lengthy and informative Q&A session with Dr Lal and Marrika Colvin (from Guy’s hospital) with discussion of amongst other things the frequency of CT scans, the freedom of doctors to use drugs which although not licensed for use in patients with thymic cancers have clinical evidence of effectiveness in thymic cancers, and the experiences of patients who have had surgery in terms of what information they had received and the impact and treatment of phrenic nerve damage due to surgery.
